Class Details

The highly customizable AR-15 can be used for numerous applications. Some of those uses are for recreation, hunting, sporting, and self-defense purposes. Regardless of use this class focuses on three main objectives.

  1. UNDERSTAND:
    Tackle nomenclature, ammunition options, maintenance and cleaning.
  2. MASTER:
    Become proficient in operating and training with the AR-15.
  3. ACCESSORIZE:
    Discover how to best customize and
    upgrade your rifle.

This one-day (9 hour) all range class will teach you how to disassemble/assemble and clean, shooting fundamentals, zero using iron sights and optics, clear malfunctions, reloads, engage targets at varying distances, shoot from different positions and from barricades. Students will leave with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to competently navigate the AR-15 world.

Class Schedule

Meet at the range at 8am ready to train. Range location can be found on the “FAQ” portion of this website. We will begin by learning about the AR-15. Following, we will zero the rifle using iron sights and optics. Lunch will be taken around noon as a group.

We do not provide it for free, but food will be delivered to the range location.

Afterwards, we will continue to learn practical shooting drills, barricade shooting, malfunction, clearance, reloads, and cognitive drills. The day will conclude with cleaning of rifles and discussion of storing vs staging.

Course of Fire - 150 rounds
Required Gear - AR-15 rifle (5.56/223 cal) with iron sights and optics of the students choosing, sling (either single-point or combat), eye and hearing protection.(preferably electronic noise-canceling), 150 rds of ammo, 55 gr full metal jacket, three magazines (either 20 or 30 rd - student may choose which), two magazine pouches (either on a chest rig or battle belt), cleaning kit for 223/5.56 cal rifle.
Recommended Gear - Paper & pen, knee pads for kneeling (if needed), comfortable clothing suited to the current weather conditions, water, Gatorade, etc. (for hydration)
